KISU wins the Aga Khan Junior Championship
Kampala, Uganda
Kampala International School captured the 6th Edition of the Aga Khan Junior Swimming gala on Saturday 10th March, leading the pack of 9 teams that took part. KISU took the commanding overall lead, clinching the boys team trophy while hosts Aga Khan came overall second after taking the girls trophy. 3rd-placed Supra Swim club were in impressive form and swept a large chunk of the medal basket followed by Ambrosoli International School who looked extremely threatening in the girls individual events before a lapse in the relays where they lost ground. Dolphins Swim Club showed the edge of club swimming when, with a small pack of sharp swimmers, they garnered massive points to keep up with the bigger teams. ISU was not for this day though individual brilliance from a few swimmers showed lots of class. Royal Swim Club, Time to Play and Well Spring school shared the points at the bottom and took home with great experiences, this being their first time to be on such a national event.
KISU who have won in the 2 recent events were happy to recapture the trophy they last won in 2007 from the defending champions and 4 times winners, Aga Khan School. A total of 398 swimmers aged 4-12 years took part in the annual event.
Well done coaches for the superb work done on this event.
