10 medals for Uganda
At the send –off I promised Uganda that we are going to bring back medals.
Here we are!
4 golds, 4 silvers and 2 bronze for Uganda swimming team at the just concluded CANA ZONE 3&4 championship 2011
Introduction
The talented team of 9(nine) participants who competed for Uganda kept the powerhouses Mauritius, South Africa, Zambia, Botswana and Zimbabwe at bay in the team championship.

Briefs
Jamila Lunkuse took her medal tally to five (5) on the final day of the competition, getting two (2) gold medals and three (3) silver medals. She set the new championship record in 50 breaststroke at 35:80 from 36:29 in the 13-14 category. She raced to gold in the 100m breaststroke in a time of 1:21:30. Jamila also claimed silver medals in 50fly,50 free and 100free setting New National records with the time of 30:84, 28:74, and 1:03:68 respectively.
The 12 year old talented Arnold Kisulo also got five (5) medals, two (2) gold, one (1) silver and two (2) bronze medals. Arnold landed 31:61 time in 50m fly and a very impressive 2:44:85 in 200m individual medley setting New national Records in the 12 & under categories. He also got silver in 50free with a time of 28:86 and bronze in 200m free at 2:28:36, 200 backstroke at 2:42:12 setting new national records all events
The young enthusiastic Ugandans raced very competitively improving and achieving there personal best times and new national records in along course in there respective categories with: Joshua(13-14) making 36:98 in breast 50m, 29:63 in 50fly and 29:63 in 50m free
Alivn Okware who was appearing for the first time was very impressive in the pool as he swam a personal best of 31:29 in 50 fly and a 29:46 in 50 free
Ann Mudanye, Aaliya Naluyima and Luis Wolibwa put up a very highly competitive show in there first time exposure to a 50 metre international competition to in increase Uganda`s total points to 316
Elisha and Captain Ronald Daisuke inspired Team Uganda, where they highly scored points in the non-medal position to keep the Uganda Flag flying.The championship organisers hailed the meet as a success and said it was indicative of the raised standards of competition within the region in terms of both organisation and swimming.
