KISU are Independence Day Swimming Champions 2011

Independence Day Championships came to a close with hosts KISU taking the lead in most age groups and snatching the overall trophy from the 3 times defending Champions, Aga Khan Dolphins who came second. 2007 champions, ISU came third in a highly competitive event that saw 7 schools and 2 clubs taking part.

The event also saw the return of Hillside Naalya into action and the entry of new teams such as Supra SC, Heritage, Seeta High and Dolphins Kampala SC with impressive individual and team performance.

The event was highlighted by promising show of skills from budding talent and top flight performance by national team swimmers. It proved to be an inspiring event and a suitable meeting place for a great number of coaches who managed their teams with remarkable professional conduct, underlining a high level of growth and achievement  within the coaching rank and file. Its a desirable gesture and tradition to see swimmers and coaches congratulating winners; and parents cheering every good performance.

Uganda Swimming Federation president, Don Rukare reiterated their commitment to developing talent and utilizing such events to prepare for continental and global events, and partnering with supporting stakeholders to take the sport to new standards. He thanked KISU administration for supporting the federation in hosting the event and extended special appreciation to Excel Insurance Company who have sponsored the event for 7 years running.

USCA takes this opportunity to thank all coaches who turned up in the gala, as managers, officials,  administrators or overseers, for another job well done. Keep inspiring excellence with the swimmers!
